Why is my computer so slow?

Almost all the internet and computer users have noticed many times that their computer is running slow than the normal speed but they are not aware of the exact reason behind this. There are many reasons for your computer getting slow.

BACKGROUND PROGRAMS
Some programs may be running in the background that do not allow the main program to run properly because required memory is not available and is busy in running the background programs. This is the one reason for your computer to get slow. To stop all the background programs press ctrl, alt and delete together, click any task and then click end program.

SPYWARES AND VIRUSES
These are the programs that get into your computer functioning to run their own program. That is one other reason for your computer running slow. 90% of these viruses and spywares infect your computer through internet. To stay away from these you must use spyware removal programs and antivirus. They must be updated time to time and also scan your computer. After the scan you can read all the information about the type and number of infections. It also tells that how severe the infection is.

UNNECESSARY DATA IN HARD DRIVE
If there is not enough free space in your hard drive or you can say that there is not at least of 300 MB empty space in your hard drive then your computer will run slow. Only one way to get out of this problem is to remove the unnecessary data from your computer.

FRAGMENTED FILES
There can be a lot of fragmented files on the hard drive. This means that whenever you save a file it goes into the continuous free sectors of the drive but when you again opens that file and make some changes in it then it is saved to some other place where the free sectors are available. This causes the file fragmentation and computer takes time to find all the parts of file whenever you open it. So try to defrag your hard disk after three weeks.

SUFFICIENT MEMORY
You must have sufficient memory for your computer depending on the type of work you have to do on you PC. Else your computer will become slow and many times will freeze as well.

INSTALL/UNINSTALL SOFTWARE
A registry is something used by the computer that looks over or tracks almost everything like your computer’s setup, custom changes, applications installed, internet settings and many more things. Whenever a program is installed in the computer registry is also modified. So registry changes with anything you change about your computer.
Some softwares are not written properly or contains extra things that are mostly not required. All this cause extra stress on the computer and finally registry will grow in size causing your computer to get slow. While uninstalling the software, it leaves behind some parts of it which makes your computer slow.
